STORY

Edo Shiran gets its name from the fact this sake was first drunk in the Warring States period in Japan. This was before the Edo period, and Shiran literally means "do not know" in Japanese. Based on history books of that time, it is said that the Japanese samurai, Hideyoshi Toyotomi, loved this sake.

It was only in 1990 that this old sake recipe was recreated after thorough research of materials found at the Amanosan Kongoji Temple in Osaka.

On the Sake Meter Value, this sake sits at -3, which means it's more towards the sweet end of the scale at -15 than the dry, which ranges to +15. Its amber color makes it different from modern sake, which is clear.

It's definitely worth trying for all the sake enthusiasts out there!
